The original format is Branded Content created in partnership with RocketSeat.
With the technology sector growing exponentially, Rocketseat, an edtech that aims to train developers using its own platform and methodologies and fosters the community of programmers, announced the launch of Show Me The Code, the first Brazilian reality show focused on technology education of Information.
Thinking about putting the developer at the center of the transformation journey that the world is currently experiencing, the challenge is to show in practice the reality of a developer and how lines of code can impact the lives of millions of people.
Over the course of a month, the creative teams at Movioca and Rocketseat pored over character research and classic storytelling elements from reality shows to create the dynamics and scripts for Show Me The Code episodes.
Eight developers were selected who went through individual and group challenges, where hard and soft skills were evaluated in areas such as pair programming, API consumption and the resolution of bugs in systems during 6 exciting episodes.
“The developer is a key part of the technological changes that the world needs. Rocketseat, as a community and programming school, needs to invest time in knowledge to train people, and if we don’t promote this training, the market will take even longer to mature. There is an abyss between the number of vacancies available and the number of programmers, so it is necessary to generate experience in the community, value professionals and mainly promote education among them”, says Rodrigo Terron, COO of Rocketseat.
And how to transform the programming area into something visually interesting and engaging for Branded Content?
The objective was to reach not only those who are already in the programming area, but also to attract new audiences. While for realities such as cooking, the dish itself can be extraordinary in the eyes of the viewer, codes are more abstract to be presented on a screen.
Despite these limitations, Show Me The Code brings IT to life with the emotion of those who make it: real people, who on screen become rich characters, with good stories to transform bits and bugs into thought-provoking ingredients for a reality show.
Under the command of Diego Fernandes and Jakeliny Gacielly, the devs José Carlos, Maria Odete, Beatriz, Gabriel, Mateus, Lorena, Adriana and Filipe took on this challenge in order to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Silicon Valley, one of the biggest industrial and technological developments in addition to the first Show Me The Code trophy.
